Airwave is C.O.P.S.' Communications Officer.
Airwave was held back an extra year in the sixth grade because he was a "whiz-kid" at repairing the school's computers. They couldn't afford to let him leave! He made up for it by skipping two grades in high school, then graduated top in his class at the Police Academy.
In his first year on the force, he revolutionized police-band communications by perfecting a digital-burst, centrally-synchronized, multi-band frequency-hopper that made it virtually impossible for the "bad guys" to listen in on police transmissions.
